IMUA, a new island contemporary
group with singers David Dunaway, Albert "Baba" Akiona and ‘ukulele player
Samson Ah Mook Sang, presents two albums entitled, "Endangered
Species", and "Live Aloha."
Overwhelmingly, IMUA got their foot
in the door and were up and running like A to Z in a week. Their
success is attributed
to the type of
music, which is fun; it sizzles, and unlike the majority of styles,
theirs is simple "backyard" island contemporary music that
people relate to. IMUA’s professional appearance and visual
performances are appealing to fans of all ages; especially children
who frequently mail fan letters and song-related drawings to them.
IMUA earned a HOKU nomination for
'Most Promising New Artist/Group."
Today, IMUA can be seen and heard at performances throughout Hawaii;
